How can I improve my immune system?!

Question: So during the winter, I'm sick most of the time... I'd say something like 3/4 of the winter, I'm sick.... I was wondering if there were things I could do to help my immune system to protect me from all the diseases? Thanks. =)

I have a low immune system so my doctor suggested the following.

1. take multi vitamins. i take one a day for women. you can take centrum, etc.

2. she told me to take extra B6. it helps your immune system.

3. sleep 7-8 hours daily (i need to)

4. drink lots of water (i need to)

5. eat lots of fruits (i need to)

6. exsercise daily (i need to)

so yeah i havent been doing many of the things i need to on a daily bases.. but have been doing it here and there and i do feel better. i ahvent gotten sick in a while and i feel better. my goal is to do it daily so that i feel 100%.

I find, the more "sanitary" you are, the worse your immune system is. The less you freak out about germs, the more your body will have a chance to "experience" them, and learn to fight them.

Do you take a multi-vitamin? That usually helps. Or try echinacea, that is supposed to help your immune system. Eating a healthy diet will improve your over all health. Exercise....the list goes on, really.

Eat properly, drink plenty of water, and sleep enough. Dress appropriately for the weather, and don't overheat your house. Open the windows up at some time during the day if at all possible. A vitamin C supplement during winter is a good idea, and get onto the garlic tablets when you feel a cold starting. It won't stop it, but it will reduce the duration. I find that I will get a cold if I let the area between my shoulder blades get cold. If you have some peculiarity like this, you can find ways to combat it.

yeah, pretty much a daily multivitamin is good, or even omega fatty acid pills. my boyfriend and i are taking a pill named spirulina, which is supposed to be really good for the immune system too. you could just google it.
