Head and Shoulders Shampoo~?!

Question: Okay, so the past month I found that I have dandruff so I went out and got Head and Shoulders Shampoo ..

I looked at it's website and it said "*visible flakes with regular use" o_O What does that mean?

Because on the back of the bottle it says "For effective dandruff control, use everytime you shampoo." ~ So I'm just a little confused o.O

Head and Shoulders works okay if you don't have severe dandruff problems. You have to use it consistently, and at least twice a week. When you discontinue using dandruff shampoo, the dandruff comes back.

What causes dandruff in the first place? It is caused by a fungus/yeast called "malassezia". Many people with dandruff problems also have dry scalp. Exactly what causes an overgrowth of these organisms isn't known, although increased oil production, hormonal fluctuations, stress, illness, neurologic disorders such as Parkinson's disease, a suppressed immune system, infrequent shampooing, extra sensitivity to the malassezia fungus and even heredity may contribute to the development of dandruff.

Malassezia feeds off of scalp oils and cholesterol. The reason that over 99.9% of the dandruff shampoos on the market don't work is because they fail to address the fungus itself and they don't address the oils beneath the scalp that must be controlled. This fungus normally grows on the scalp of even healthy scalps - when it gets out of control is when you start to feel the itch and see the flakes and this can be extremely troublesome!

Treatment consists of use of medicated shampoos containing ketoconazole, ciclopirox, selenium sulfide, zinc pyrithione, coal tar, and salicylic acid, used twice weekly for at least a month and if necessary, indefinitely.

Hope this helps. Take care my friend.

Go for treseme

just use it as shampoo regularly

It doesn't really work that well. Try the one by neutrogena. It stinks but works. Get the one with the blue lid. Sorry, can't think of the name right now.

it means that if you have dandruff flakes in your hair, when you use head and sholders shampoo they will disapear.

i use head and sholders and i use to have dandruff, and now i dont (:

idk good question.. but it takes a while before the shampoo starts to work.

Did it say LESS visible flakes with regular use? Personally I have really terrible dandruff and I use the Head & Shoulders advance shampoo everytime I wash my hair and it works great.

Use it everytime for a while and see how it works for you.

I bought some for my daughter on Saturday, and my hairdresser says do NOT use it-it's a vicious circle, and it burns the scalp. Apparently it won't clear up. She suggested Boots own 'Expert.' Am buying some tomorrow so can't comment further

head and shoulders helps to stop the production of dandruff on your scalp. After one bottle, you can stop using it because it works really well. It completely gets rid of your dandruff after one month. Just wash your hair everyday and use it like a normal shampoo.

are u sure its dandruff and not just dry scalp coz head and shoulders for dandruff which is a fungus and has big flakes

I use Head & Shoulders and My answer would be this:
I am a Mom of 2 grown children I am age 48, and know a little about shampoos. I used to be a beauty Consultant too.
So, I advice you this, Head and shoulders is very good and please pay attention to the back of the bottle, It DOES help CONTROL dandruf on regular use and don't use anything else in between. Also, rinse your hair THOROUGHLLY every wash time. Hot water opens the pors and cold closes them. Keep that in mind when washing your hair or skin period.
Hope this helps? Have a nice day. : )
