My Dad smokes a lot?!
Question: I have seen those stupid cigarettes in our bathroom and I have told him that this is not good for your health and even ours.
He says I know that baby but definitely this is my last cigarettes. But the next he is smoking.

If he dosent want to help him self then you have to create a stratagy to make him get off cigaretts cause its not good for any body thats living in your house including him and if he wants to live longer than he has to stop cause everybody wants a long healthy life but the disitions that we make in choices of eating and exercising is not good and i want to help you cause i know how it feels to want sombody you love to take better care of them selves and what i would do is set him down and have a serious talk with him tell him you dont like it its affecting me and i need you to stop and you always say that you will but i know you too well you never will unless if you deside to make the changes yourself and its getting to the point were i dont want to be around you any more cause your affecting me in many diffrent levels and if you cared about me like you say you do and if you care about the family then you would have the will power to control your stress and craving and stop smoking for good and i know its difficult but if you really want to stop then you will find a way and youll never give up and trying and giving up is never going to be good enough for me cause i know you will never try but if you do this i will have more respect and love for you like never before and you will make my life easier and happy so please stop and dont say you will just do it ... thats what i would say to him but if he really loves you than things will turn out fine and you will be ok and be firm and make him feel really gulty cause it works lol good luck best wishes =)!!

Unfortunately, until he's ready you cannot make him stop something that could harm you both. Nagging him about it will only frustrate him and lead him to resent you.
I suggest that you drop it-the information available today and all of the medications that are on the market make it all but easy to stop smoking. He's aware of your position of the subject and will continue to smoke until HE gets ready to do so.
I'm sorry that he's being like this, but he's addicted and doesn't feel as though he can stop. You'r'e just going to have to change your course of action and be morally supportive of his smoking cessation instead of being so vocal.
