Could it be narcolepsy?!

Question: Hello! I am a bit paranoid when it comes to certain things, but I just thought I might ask. My boyfriend suffers from being continually tired.
He falls asleep very easily. After a 5 hour shift he falls asleep. On the train, bus...anywhere. But he is perfectly capable of being somewhat hyperactive and active. he plays football and is fine during the entirety of the game.
When he sleeps he very rarely dreams and it tkes him very little time to fall asleep.
Also I have been trying to observe him whilst sleeping. He is prone to snoring when on his back, and as he falls asleep he jolts a lot ( so do I..so I dont know if this is anything of interest).
He wakes up extremly easily. When I move, or even cough, he opens his eyes immediatly.
I just feel like he's very often tired and that it's very posioning to his life.
bear in mind that he can be full of energy. I'm just a bit concerned.
Thank you for your help!

Sounds more like Sleep apnoea than Narcolepsy. They can't do much for sleep apnoea unless your partner goes to sleep wearing an oxygen mask and has oxygen administered to him during the night.

could have sleep apnea see a doc

Doubtful it's narcolepsy...narcoleptics tend to fall asleep completely random; during dinner, during a game, etc. Not just in boring moments.

It is not narcolepsy.

It sounds to me like he IS tired! Is he waking up every night when you move or cough? Maybe he just isn't getting enough sleep. If you have a spare bedroom, try sleeping in there for a couple of nights and see if he sleeps better or is less tired. My husband and I often "sleep" in separate rooms because one of us is always waking the other and we don't get a good night sleep. Now, we're both well rested!
I think most people will snore when sleeping on their back. And your boyfriend sounds like he is a light sleeper.

Good Luck!! :)
