Mom has a diabetes that has crippled her legs, she spends most of her time in he!

Question: She is taking care of my younger brother and sister (sister has a baby) and they live with my cousin. We don't know what she can qualify for and where to start looking for help. My moms pays all of her food stamps money to my cousin while they stay there. Life is hell right now for all of them. She is full blooded Native if that makes any difference for your answer. For all you smart a$$es out there; I've just been laid off for the winter so I can't spare any money myself for her. Does anybody know anything that may help. Thank you all to thoes with legit answers.

Social security and disability can be very hard to get, but she should try, more than once. Persistence pays off.

Her status as a Native will probably be more help, ask your local diabetes center and also your government about programs for Natives. There are some diabetes programs out there especially for Native people.

You could start here...

i would think she could either apply for social security or disabality

As a Native does your mother have any connection to a tribe? There may benefits attached to tribe members. If not and her status as Native American can be documented then she may have benefits anyway.

She sounds like a loving and strong woman. I hope you can find the right connection for you all.

Best Wishes.
