I have mrsa, can I kiss my bf?!
Question: I have mrsa on my shoulder and thigh. they've been cultured and I'm on antibiotics. I've read a book on mrsa my doc gave me and much more about it online. One thing neither book nor online articles seem to mention is if kissing is okay. I did read on one site that as long as your lips have no open wounds and you do not allow a "french" kiss while you have mrsa then you'll be fine, is this true? I am really quite anxious about all this, I just got a new boyfriend and it'd be great if I could at least give 'em a peck on the lips!

my dad has mrsa as well, and i dont think he has any problems with his GF. dont go crazy, but i think youd be fine.
If you're on antibiotics, it's shouldn't be a problem.
everyone has mrsa... there is a serious lack of education about it!
It's extremely contagous but if you say you've had it cut and you on the antibiotic so it should be fine.
well you should find out if anyone in his household or contacts has any immune disfunction(like cancer on chemo) becasue he could become a carrier just by touching things that you have touched Many people are already carrying it anyway but those who are sick would be esp weakened to any infection with MRSA. A "cure" would be not just one course of ABX, but 2 negative cultures after the completion of the antibiotics Please consult your doctor who is treating you.
