Yes, try Mucinex over the counter. If it does not clear, you need to go to the doc. You may need antibiotics for bronchitis or pneumonia.

yes, bronchitis and pneumonia, if you are having trouble breathing I would see a doctor.

yes, it may become pneumonia try taking an expectorant, and if you do not get better in a week, call a doctor.

Exactly what she said, you should make an appt. with your doctor, there could be an infection brewing in your respiratory system.

Sure it can. You can get a secondary infection; sinus infection, bronchitis, etc... I would see a doctor.

Having the cold or flu could andvance into a more serious issue. Pneumonia is one example. If you experience; heavy coughing with thick phlegm, inabilty to walk short distances because lack of breath, sharp chest pains, or shifts between chills and sweats, I would suggest you contact a doctor immediately. It's better to be on the safe side.

Though you may be over worried, it is not likely you are developing pneumonia. The average flu can last up to three weeks to get over it completely. The pain in your chest could be the breaking up of mucus that was present while you were sick.

On another note, I hope you feel better. I have recently had the flu and I know how horrible it is.

fluid on the lungs +++bad news++hosp

The flu going around this year is a bad one. The vaccines are only working for 40% of the people that got one. The flu can turn into something far worse very easy. Look up the flu epidemic in 1918, it killed millions.

Here are a few links I use often and may help you. Hope you feel better soon.
