If you were having chest discomfort/pain which was making you anxious,?!

Question: and you had, had a ECG, and a Stress Test done on your heart while you were on a treadmill, that both tests brought back negative results for Heart problem. Is it a possibility that something could still be getting missed? Ive had both, but dont feel happy, due to fact that I am still getting chest discomfort. it is making me anxious. People with experience of having same tests done and understanding of what I am asking, would be great to get answer off you. Thanks to everyone for any help given.

Talk to your doctor and tell him how you feel.
I've been getting chest discomfort for a few months now,I had an ECG,the stress test(treadmill) and an Echo-cardiogram.They were all normal apart from a question mark on my stress test.I was told it could be angina but it wasn't conclusive but I was put on blood pressure tablets and aspirin and have a nitro spray. My doctor has arranged a Cardiac Catheterisation(angiogram), a dye is put into the heart and shows up any problems.
He feels we should know once and for all if it's a heart problem.Stressing about it can make it worse but you need to find out the cause.

It is possible to cause the pain, just by thinking it, or by way of psycho semantic responses. I've had chest pains today, and associate it with the neck back shoulder pain I also have today. I hope that is the worst of it, nothing more. Stress can also cause us to become 'ill'. Look online for answers.

i experienced these symptoms in 05, i did the tread mill sonogram thing , the doc said everything was fine , and the tests showed no abnormalities, i said that the nitro spray got rid of the angina pains, he then said i needed to take the nuclear test with the thallium,

this i did on a Wednesday, Thursday the nurse called and said that needed to schedule a heart cath, i said we can do it next week, 20 minutes after i hung up the doctor called and and said that he had got me an appointment the next day at the hospital, and if i was to go camping (which is why i scheduled the heart cath for the following week) and had a heart attack i would not make it,

i ended up having a triple bypass, there were 2 arteries blocked 100% and 1 blocked 70%, so listen to your body, i a was 45

I used to get these pains a year or two ago they started like that for a while and then over a space of a 2-3 months i started having panic attacks and my whole body would seize and pins n needles type feeling from head to toe once i knew this and taught myself breathing techniques the pains went which had started the problem in the first place hope this helps in some way

Hi,
speaking from sour experiance it turned out to be the chicken or the egg? my chest pains were being caused by my life style/problems which (not knowing this) lead me to think i was on the way to a heart attack. Ironically because it is all interlinked with our neurology (electric cicuit) we can 'bring it on' ouselfs without knowing we are.
In short not knowing i had angzieties, these were the cause of my chest pains. These in turn caused me to go through the motions of a heart attack. i honistly thought i was having one.
If you have faith in your doc and the results then take it easy, look at your life style, working to heard, worries about children-family-relationships etc, chill have a break and start afresh.
be happy

I would say, ask your doctor for one more test, a nuclear stress test, and then accept whatever those results are, just in the off chance something did get missed, but I have to tell you as I read your question that it sounds an awful lot like a panic attack. You need to be evaluated for that as well.

I had the same problem
SO
Do you get numbness and tingling down your left arm (and possibly your left leg)
Are you woken in the night by the pain?
Do you have symptoms which are triggerd if you get angry or just excited about anything (excited as in happy)?
Oh and before most of these symptoms started did you have a episode of chest pain that happened when you were resting that lasted for about 4-5 minutes but then did not have any other symptoms for a few weeks (or even months)?
Yes or no to all these questions - I might be able to help
Oh and don't let anyone convince you that you are having panic attacks ; there is a lot of misunderstanding about what these are. What you have to ask your self is if any anxiety comes before the discomfort or if it is as a result of the discomfort. If the answer to these questions is no then it is probaly nothing to worry about. if the answer is yes then there is a form of angina which results in these symptoms which would not show up on the tests you have mentioned as it can occur without artherosclosis - it took me 2 years to get a diagnosis. The good news is that it can be treated with a combination of calcium channel blockers, cholesterol lowereing medication and a permanent chnge to a low fat diet.
