No - I believe it is supposed to last for a lifetime but, it only prevents the development of certain HPV strains (about 6-8). There are dozens of HPV strains in total so the shot only takes care of a few of them. That is why it is so important to get an annual PAP done so that any other strain or abnormal cell growth can be found early and treated.
