Coughing up blood and gray and green stuff...?!

Question: My boyfriend has recently gotten sick. He has the symptoms of what seems like a bad cold; coughing, stuffy nose, headaches, dizziness, hacking up flem, and his voice is all groggy. Well, yesterday at work he was coughing up blood, flem, and chunks of greenish-gray stuff. My boyfriend smokes too. Does anyone happen to know what the greenish-gray stuff is that he might be coughing up? The only things he had to eat before he was coughing that stuff up was chiken pot pie, which is pretty much all yell with a few bits and pieces of carrots and celery in it. So I don't think it was the food he ate.

The sputum is gray from smoking, but the infection shown by green sputum can be dealt with through antibiotics. The flecks of blood may indicate either irritation or bleeding in the lungs from damage to the walls. He may need a chest x-ray if it continues.

get him to the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!

get him to a doctor/emergency room. NOW.

he should go to the doctor..

The gray-ish green stuff is probably mold build-up from the effects of smoking Virginia Slim Menthol cigs.

When the mucus turns green, it is in advanced stages.

He really needs to see the Dr. to see if he has pneumonia or something else that is serious.

Mucus that turns green indicates an infection. The blood could either be from the infection or irritation to the throat from coughing so much. Either way he needs to be seen by a doctor.

Grey and green chunks sound like smokers mucus. Hope he feels better soon, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. If he is going to smoke he better get used to coughing up mucus and blood.

probably affect of a cigaret or he might die unless u take him to the docter-__________-
