Hi Aranel. I have included a link for you if want to read further about this but from reading this data, the probability is very high that you will ot have any long term effects....AND you certainly won't die from this condition. You had it at age 3 and in all likelihood you will never again have any signs or symptoms. It's over!! Relax. Now if you are having symptoms, even though it is not likely to be related to this condition, please don't overlook them. If they bother you, and they persist, see a doctor. Good luck.

Henoch-Schonlein is a type of hypersensitivity vasculitis and inflammatory response within the blood vessel. It is unclear why this occurs. The syndrome is usually seen in children, but it may affect people of any age. Many people with Henoch-Schonlein purpura had an upper respiratory illness in the previous weeks.

The disease usually resolves spontaneously without treatment
The prognosis for patients with HSP is generally excellent. Nearly all patients have no long-term problems. The ultimate outcome is usually very good for both adults and children.
