Anyone have a dog that was allergic to fleas and cant get rid of their itch?!

after we found one flea on our bulldog months ago, she is still itching like crazy.
She's a lot better than she was (At one point she was bleeding over 75% of her body), but she still has a few hotspots.
That was the only flea we ever found on her, but it seems like it triggered some kind of massive allergic reaction, which quickly turned to a massive skin infection.
She was treated with 2 antibiotics and prednisone(immuno-suppressive) for about 12 weeks.
