Severe Inability to Breathe?!
Question: I have been diagnoised with Asthma a while back and it never gave me attacks, now, Im gettting worse to the point that I visited the ER yesterday, they gave me steroids, UNfortunatly, that didn't help and I'm having symptoms as I type this, I really dont think is Asthma, my docotor even me on Asmanex, which didn't help at all.
Note: When realaxed, I do breathe better, In order to get Air (for the most part) I need to yawn. Just for Refrence the Steroid is Prednisone im using it for five days (Although it doesn't work)

When I was first diagnosed with asthma I didn't think it was really asthma either. The prednisone does work but it takes time. Sometimes it takes two prescriptions of it if its really bad. Have you seen a allergist/asthma doctor or just your family doctor? I didn't get proper treatment until I saw a specialist. I now take advair, singulair and nasionex and feel great. I can breath again. I felt exactly like you do. If you are still having a hard time breathing go back to the ER. You might need a breathing treatment. You can die from asthma so I urge you to take it seriously. When I went to the hospital for the first time I felt like a fool but they told me I was right for going. When I went to the asthma doctor he said my lung function showed I was only as 60% lung copasity and most people are at 80%. You need to talk to your doctor and tell him your meds are not working. There are other alternatives.

also prednisone only puts weight on you if you use it long term. \Like if you are on it continuely for months and months.
Give Prednizone a chance. It will also put weight on you but it's temporary. Ask for Asthmakort, I use it and my symptoms are gone.
