My roomate has the worst smelling gas?!
Question: His farts smell so bad they clear a room. I made fun of him but realized hes really self conscious about it. Is there a disease or medical issue that causes this?

He most likely has a GI upset. This may be gross, but honestly everyone gets horrific & pungent gas once in a while. Generally, that happens with diarrhea. Eggs and dairy come to mind with regards to an allergy/intolerance. He may have food poisoning if he's not so sanitary when prepping foods. If he eats out a lot, then maybe he should avoid that place. Advise him to try to remove foods that he thinks may be causing him discomfort. For ex. I know someone who discovered she was allergic to bell peppers.

well if he was a dog you can feed him yogurt and kilsl the smell in the gas. dogs still fart but wont smell

get him to go to the doctor and get checked out then buy some gas ex it might help a little bit

Yes there might be. Or he might be eating the wrong kinds of food. If he eats meats eggs and certain types of veggies that cause gas than maybe that is the cause. Your farts dont smell great either.

just keep something in the room to spray...a friend of mine does the same thing....might be from what he eats
he eats lots of fiber? Too many carbs? If he is self conscious there are some pills he can take available from the drug store.

They do sell medication off the counter for this kind of problem, it could be his diet and he can also consult with the pharmacist. I guess this would be embarrassing for him, then he should just look on the shelves in drugstore. (stomach aisle)

he must be eating foods that are either really spicy,very sugary or high in fiber(beans,broccoli,nuts etc.)
LOL! okay, go to Walmart and get some airfresherner if your room asks what your doing say I think the room needs a differnt smell or something like that. Just make sure your roomtate doesnt get his feelings hurt. otherwise IDK. Good Luck
Well, he may have a stomach issues, like ibs or it may just be the food he eats. But either way, if you are offended, you have to come up with a way to gently tell him and suggest a medication to him. (Beano, gasx will help.) you could ask him if he feels ok or if his stomach hurts. Since you already mentioned it to him before, you can bring it up again and say I'm sorry about how I talked to you last time, what I really meant is that I'm worried about you or play it off like that or something. Is it constant? if not, then I dunno if you should be making such a big deal about it, unless hes doing it to be obnoxious....
