Gestational diabetes normal levels?!
Question: Tonight we had a little party and I have not had any high readings since I started tracking my sugar so I had some cheesecake after dinner. 1 hour after my level was 140, 2 hours later it was 141... I tested again because I felt like crap and wanted to know if it was my sugar. However, I have heard conflicting things.... one is that after 2 hours 140 is still considered normal and the other that it should be under 120. So which is it? Is 141 high for 2 hours after eating? I did not "fail" enough parts of the GTT to be considered actually diabetic just impaired glucose tolerant. Are there different numbers for GD and regular type 2 diabetics?

by 4 hours after it should be back to a normal range usually ---should be at 120 or below for good control but if it does go above after eating something really sweet like cheesecake your natural insulin should kick in by 4 hours post. If not I would let my Dr. know----hope that helps!
