Answers: I want to know if you ever had a foot ulcer, if so did you walk with regular shoes on or did you have to use crutches.(sickle Cell or Diabetic) people

it all depends on how deep is the ulcer and the cause of the ulcer. deep meaning is only the skin gone, or has it now involved the muscles, bones etc. if it has then it is advisable not to walk on it.
also depends on the cause, is is diabetic ulcer, trophic ulcer, arterial ulcer, venous ulcer, neuropathic ulcer.
it is best to get the foot dressed and avoid walking on it altogether, but i can comment better if i get to see the wound or if you send me a picture.

These approaches may help you prevent corns and calluses from developing:

Wear shoes that give your toes plenty of room. If you can't wiggle your toes, your shoes are too tight. Have your shoe shop stretch your shoes at any point that rubs or pinches.
Use protective coverings. Wear felt pads or bandages over areas that rub against footwear.
Wear padded gloves when using hand tools. Or try padding your tool handles with cloth tape or covers.
