My brother in law has been fighting brain cancer for over 16 months now (glioblastoma multiofrme). Individual prognosis depend on your specific condition, but i guess 16 months is a good sign, don't you think?
Get prepared for a long journey, and try keeping your spirits up. Follow your doctor's orders to the letter and have faith. Pray, or meditate or whatever your faith tells you to do, but believe that there is something/someone larger than us that is there to comfort and listen.
He has been having 2 week rounds of oral chemo every 6 weeks, and started drinking MonaVie to help his immune system. i do not know if it was coincidental nor do i endorse any product, but do some research on your own and see if you want to try it. His hemoglobin levels went from 7 to 11 in 4 weeks.

sorry about that just try to be strong don't let it get to you fight has hard as you can don't quit the hair loss is something that well grow back the important here is you out doing the cancer staying alive and have a lot of faith .

I am sorry to hear that you are sick. The best thing is to stay strong and positive. If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, well then you can't. Surround yourself with positive people and BEAT THAT CANCER! You can do it!! And p.s. it's spelled chemo. ;)

This is something that you should talk to your doctors about. It depends on the type of cancer. The brain is only the location and not the type of tumor. It depends on the size of the tumors.

I wish you well.

All-in-all, survival odds based on averages don't mean anything if you are not average, so the outcome is not set in stone. You need to ask the doctors about the cancer stage, type of tumor, and their locations. Depending on these factors, the outlook may be anywhere from highly favorable to hopeless. And even if the outlook is hopeless, there's always a chance that you will beat the odds.

It depends on if they are malignant or benign and where in the brain they are located.
If they are malignant, its not good news.
If they are benign, you may still have some problems, but its not life threatening.

It will be a long fight, one day at a time. What is the histology -tissue type? that tells a lot of the statistical prognosis -but you never know where you sit in the statistics. Usually chemo is never given to benign tumors -patient age, clinical condition and histology usually tell more of the statistical prognosis than location or size of tumor.
When they have found 2 tumors do they mean that the tumor has 2 centers or that they are 2 separate -and have they taken a sample of it by biopsy or operation?
So , on the basis of your sentence there will be more questions than answers.
There are innumerable answers already in the yahoo concerning brain tumors -you could take a look when you feel up to it.Likewise you can find more info from virtual trials and National Cancer Institute and the Neuro-oncology pages of big cancer hospitals like MDAnderson in Houston (mdanderson.org) or UCSF in San Francisco or Massachusetts General hospital in Boston.
Ask questions and try to understand and help /have help in family understanding. It will then be easier to concentrate on essential things. Strength for your battles! wishes marya

I'm sorry to hear that. Just stay strong and fight. Give it your all.

What kind of brain tumor / cancer, and where geographically were / are they located in your brain? Have they been able to remove any of it surgically yet? How old are you?

What chemo agents are you taking and have you been offered any radiation treatments yet?

There are many different types and each has a slightly different prognosis.

With kind and gentle regards,

CANCER: There's a new Swedish study which shows that human breast milk kills cancer. On the news this guy who drank human breast milk (with a prescription) beat cancer. It was discovered by Swedish scientists that human breast milk (spilled into a petri dish) kills cancer. People who drink it have had some success in fighting off cancer.

You need a prescription and it's about $3 an ounce at a breast milk bank, but it works.

Brain cancer, like real estate, is all about location: location in the body, location in time, and location in space.

Tumors in some parts of the brain are easier to treat than others.

If you are an adult, the younger you are, the more treatment you can sustain and the better your chances.

You can't do anything about where your tumors are located, and you can't do anything about how old you are.

But you can do something about where you are treated. I don't suggest you do your own web research on your type of cancer - there's way too much bad information out there that you don't need to see. But ask someone to find out the best medical centers for your kind of cancer, and go to the one nearest you if you possibly can.

It's the one thing you can do that will have an enormous impact on your prognosis.

Finally, there's a lot of reason to hope. My son has survived four years (so far) longer than the doctors said he would when he was diagnosed, and he's still going strong.

Do these exercises everyday and it will help get rid of the cancer slowly. You will know from test results. You will survive. If you feel dizzy or tired, stop and resume later.
The Yoga Pranayam (breathing exercises) to help with cancer problem are:

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose. Duration upto 5 minutes.

Anulom Vilom - Deep Breath-in through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
then - Breath-out through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then -Deep Breath-in through right nostril keeping left nostril closed
then - Breath-out through left nostril keeping right nostril closed
and repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 min/day).

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 12 times

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Once you are better, continue the pranayam once a day.
Be patient, as the benefits will show over a period of months.Only by doing you will benefit
and feel good because you are helping your body. Those who say I have tried everything....
will be amazed at the result of doing pranayam.
