as per the URL, The chance of "going completely blind" from LASIK is probably zero. In the "worst case" scenario, which is extremely rare (approximately 1 in 2000 cases) a patient would require a corneal transplant to correct a LASIK complication.

It is not a high chance, but there is a chance. The doctor should have informed her about all the risks. If the doctor hasn't, I would look for a new doctor.
it's not a high chance...but 1 out of 233472390473249823 people probably go blind or bad effects from it...
but dont worry as long as your have a good eye doctor who does the operation then its all good :)
