Has anyone had or heard of Much Habermann disease?!
Question: I was diagnosed with this disease about a yr ago. I was takening antibiotics and steriod cream but nothing has worked. I haven't called the dr. because he is only going to change my medicine to something els. He has precribed tetracycline which I can not take because of adversed reation. So what does he do, he prescribes me another medicine that is in the same family as tetracycline. I have basically ignored the problem but I know that is not the way to go. So if someone knows about this disease I would appreciate your opinion. I have already been to the web site for this disease but you have to be a dr. to understand it. Thanks for your help.

The disease is Mucha Habermann, which is a skin disorder. The treatments are, besides tetracycline, erythromycin, sulfonamides, or cytotoxic or corticosteroid drugs.
You need a dermatologist so ask for a referral from your doctor. Your doctor may be able to put you into a study where they are using methotrexate. Make sure your doctor knows that you must have a drug that has nothing to do with tetracycline - but frankly, it doesn't sound like you're with a dermatologist.
This is a condition where different drugs might have to be tried, so you need to be open to that.
