Strep Throat?!

Question: What are the usual things that happen when you have strep? What happens if you can't afford medicine? Does it go away? Should you cough up bloody sputum?

You should have this examined by a doctor. Strep throat can be serious if not treated properly. Many times, old/generic/cheap antibiotics can be used (if it is Strep). Strep throat usually causes fever, lymph nodes popping-out in your neck, white spots appearing on the back of your throat, and a very sore/painful throat. It can cause you to cough-up blood, but other things can cause this too. They are usually minor problems like sinus infections; however, more seirous problems can cause this as well. See a doctor. S/he will likely be able to help you get antibiotics if you need them.

Sometimes the tap water can cause infected tonsils. Drink bottled water for awhile, see if that helps.

strep throat can get very serious if not treated properly (if that is what it is) i had strep throat kept thinking it would get better and well i ended up with mono which never goes away just goes dormant...so now ever time i get sick i have to be very careful or my low immunity will end up with a mono flare up that puts me down for weeks..if money is an issue go to the er and make payments or go to a local health clinic trust me this is nothing to mess with...best of luck

Strep throat can lead to very serious complications such as rheumatic fever, which can damage your heart. Please get medical attention. You need antibiotics. Your doctor can probably help you with free samples if you can't afford the medication. There is probably also a free clinic in your area that may be able to help. Please don't delay. Get help.
