There is usually some "stretch" in the expiration, so if it said 11/07 I'd say you could probably use it, but a year old? I don't think so.

Medicines consist of various chemicals which change over time. They make an estimate based on what they have made and how long it can reasonably be expected to be of equivalent potency. Now, granted, if you're selling a product you probably want to be a bit on the conservative side, so there would be some stretch, and you could get a month or maybe even two, but not more than that.

And don't forget, this is an estimate. I've had milk go bad with sometimes two or three days left before the expected expiration date.

It may work fine. It might have absolutely no effect. It might be hazardous. There's no real way to tell except by using it, and that's a big risk for an $8 product. You really should dump it.
