Please help me!!!!?!

Question: Please read all of this. Don't skip through it. When I was in first and second grade, I had a mild case of asthma. I started smoking a couple of months ago and I think my asthma is back. I had to go to the doctor and he said I had a sinus infection. Last night, I had a severe cough attack that lasted ten minutes and it left me breathless. It was almost impossible for me to breathe. This morning, I had a severe cough attack that lasted five minutes and I'm kind of breathless. Breathing is almost a chore to me. When I inhaled the smoke, I felt a horrible burning sensation in my throat and lungs. I have to do breathing exercsises a lot because I am CONSTANTLY short of breath. When I took a sip of my drink, I put the drink down and I was BREATHLESS FROM SIPPING MY DRINK FOR TWO SECONDS. What is wrong with me? If I do have asthma, what if I have an asthma attack? I feel like I've already had some. How can I completely get rid of asthma? Just sipping a drink leaves me breathless.

The coughing is from your sinuses draining. You may or may not have asthma, but smoking sure won't do you any good if you do.

Take your medicine for a few days and calm down. If you don't feel better, go back to the doctor. If you have asthma, they'll prescribe something to control it if necessary.

yes smoking fills your lungs with tar if you had mild asthma that tar and smoke didnt help any try to stop smoking and ask your doctor 4 an inhaler you'll be koay =]

If you can't breath go to the hospital right away. I hope you are not smoking during this time. You might have a respiratory infection. Good luck

Don't smoke regardless of having or not having asthma! It's a nasty habit, and very hard to break. You really should see a doctor, and if you can't afford one, at least go to the health clinic in your area.

Good Luck!!

You should see a lung specialist....

just dont smoke you damn retard

I have athsma too and i am afraid to say that you will never get rid of it but there are effective ways to keep it under control and not make it a big issue in your life.

For a start - stop smoking! This will only cause your lung passages to tighten even more and probably did kick start these caughing attacks at an attempt to clear your throat.

Then you must go to your doctor to get a steriod inhaler and to start with have two puffs of that morning and night. This should loosen your air passages and treay the inflamation causing you to not be able to breather. If not - take a higher dose (e.g go up to 3 puffs)

You will also need a blue inhalor which relieves shortness of breath but does not treat the athsma. So if you have an 'attack' or cant breathe you can take two puffs of this.

I suggest you speak to your doctor or nurse about it aswell.

Athsma when under control is okay to live with!

you have a respiratory infection.
also, an exacerbation of asthma secondary to your respiratory infection. you can buy inhalers like salbutamol or albuterol (whichever is marketed in your country). then go to the emergency department of a hospital if you are really breathless.

If you choose to smoke, why bother to go to the doctor? You are killing yourself with the cigarets. Quit smoking, or die, it is up to you.

The folks in front of me are giving you good advice.............FORGET SMOKING, and go to the doctor, or Hospital for a re-examination, and/or more tests

one answer to your question do not drink and do not smoke because these two things are making your condition worse

when you have breathing troubles, sit in a chair (like a kitchen chair) lean forward and put your hands on your knees. it will open up your airways and help you breath. your doc can arrange for tests to see if it is asthma

If it feels heavy in your chest it may be a touch of bronchial infection. asthma attacks are caused by dust, pollen, smoke etc. stay clear from such things and you will not have an attack. If you experience migraine with this seek medical attention. walking pneumonia kills people. Please get a checkup.

hi mate. i have asthma too. and its really a nightmare 2 me if my school was going 2 hold a marathon. it nearly killed me last year when i was forced 2 run. but still, i dont smoke. anyway, i usually see a doctor, and the hospital insists me of using those inhalers. since then, im quite fine and thank god i'm still alive.
