Should i have left to brasil when i found out i had Hep C?!

Question: I donated blood when I turned 18. Something came up wrong so 3 months later i took a blood test, then 6 months later i went to see the results and the doctor said i had hep c and so young too. but i already had planned to go to brazil... was that a mistake to just leave for two months without seeing a liver specialist? can anything bad happen? am still in brasil too.

highly doubtful. you should however, seek the opinion of a doctor because the sooner you treat, the better the outcome and less chance for the bi-directional diseases to set in. given it takes decades for hcv to actually cause highly noticable symptoms, your best bet is to seek out information from a specialist. it might be wise also to alert your mother you have it, since your so young you might of been born with it. of course, if you've done drugs, had your nails done or other less common ways of getting it, you could of gotten it that way as well.

again. treat early.

good luck!

you should be fine. just stay away from alcohol and smoking. eat good healthy food. exercise if you can. Dont stress thats not good for you. If you are tired rest. when you get back make an appointment with your dr then they will probley take blood then you can see a gi dr. good luck
