VERY lTCHY?!

Question: I am itching all over, I have wickedly dry skin. There is no moisture in the air, it has been below 20 degrees where I live for more than 2 weeks. I can't stand it, my arms and legs and back are itching like crazy! How can I make them less itchy and/or how can I resist scratching it?

Lotion is the secondary solution; but is a need for you. besides, you can take an antihistaminic to avoid the extreme itchig in your body. The second alternative solution is to get used to it. When you use soap avoid soaps with lejia, use warm water (not cold water). A soap without lejia is IVORY.

Use A lot Of lotion and put it all over

Usually when my skin is dry, I use a lotion called Gold Bond ultimate. After a few days the itchy and dry skin goes away and it usually doesn't come back, unless there is rough conditions(weather) such as yours. Don't get this lotion in your eyes! Best of Luck ;)

you can go to a cvs or something and get this stuff by aveeno its an oatmeal bath it works great and you can get a box with more than one pack in it so you can use it a whenever you need to also get some vaseline intensive care lotion and use some of that daily when you get outta the shower and youll notice a diff. trust me i have really dry skin too and it gets itchy in the winter too ....

try Palmer's cocoa butter lotion..it's really good for dry skin

use lotion and cocoa butter.

Here are some ideas. Get a humidifier. Get a digital one and keep the humidity at 30-40%. You may need several humidifiers, depending on the size of you house. Your humidity is probably close to zero. That should take care of most of the problem.

Another idea is to take a bath in oats. There are special oatmeal packets- aveeno for the bath. It's soothing for the skin. Helps some, but not a miracle cure.

Take zinc internally. It helps heal skin problems. 50 mg. /day.

Calamine lotion helps relieve itching.

Any of the skin lotions will help dry skin, but they might also clog pores. I recommend aloe vera lotion. Try it and see if it helps.

Plaintain lotions also help with itching. It's an herb you put on your skin.

Vitamin E oil helps in healing skin.

If you try these and none of it makes any difference, go see a good dermatologist. But, that shouldn't be necessary.

Best wishes.
