Losing 15-20 Pounds for a 20 year old Guy?!

Question:

Losing 15-20 Pounds for a 20 year old Guy?

I am 20 Years old at about 200 even 5'11 looking at my weight and height I would like to be down to the 175-180 range, Im very athletic play baseball in the summer and flag football in the fall and spring. However i feel like im not in the shape I know i could be considering how active i am. Carbs and Sweets i realize are hurting me the most and am sure without them that would help but any other suggestions on tightening up and looking good and being generally more fit in a reasonable amount of time would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Answers:

#1: Clean up your diet. Most of us don't have the luxury of being able to eat sweets and carbs without seeing the spare tire inflate. Eat 4 to 5 times a day in smaller meals with healthy foods and a good balance of carbs, protein and fats (yes, fats! Your body needs the good kind to lose weight).
#2 Lift weights. The more muscle mass you have the more calories your body needs everyday to maintain itself.
#3: Cardio. To start, do 30 - 40 minutes EVERYDAY. Once you get where you want to be, 4 - 5 times a week should be fine.
#4: Change your lifestyle. Instead of watching a hour of TV, take a walk. Instead of sleeping in until 10, get up and be active. All these things will help increase your metabolism.
You don't want to "diet" because the weight will just come back when you stop following the strict plan. Eat right, excercise, be active and change your lifestyle and you will keep the weight off.
I'm not an expert by any means, but I can tell you this: I am 6'3" and at one point I was 247 pounds, now I'm down to 196 and I have never felt better. It took me a year to lose it, but I have kept it off for 5 years now.
Whenever you want to quit just think of how much better you will feel in the end. Not for vanity - but for your physical and emotional well-being.
