You sound horribly normal to me.

You know, it is so silly to think that you have to do things to hurt yourself or to be like somebody else. Just because someone says you have to retract your foreskin why do you think you have to do it? The reasoning is not correct that if a foreskin isn't retractable it can cause problems with cleaning and sex, and if it doesn't retract it's not functioning properly.

There actually are millions of men in the world at any one time, myself included, who do not retract their foreskin. I have a number of current patients in a similar condition and have, in the past, treated men in Europe, Asia and Australia with the condition of tight foreskin. Not one that I have personally met and not one that I have ever read about has a problem with cleaning. Nor do they have problems with masturbation or sex. And I have to join with them in saying that it is ridiculous to suggest that our penises are not functioning properly.

Your penis and your foreskin are a unique team. They work together almost always in perfect harmony. Some guys have a foreskin that retracts, so they retract it. Some guys have a foreskin that does not retract, so they leave it alone. Some guys have had their foreskin removed and no longer have a choice. If you are watching videos, then the guys are probably porn stars and they do so much drugs and other stuff that their sexuality is no longer normal in any case. I would not worry about them.

If your foreskin does not easily retract, do not try to force it to. It does not have to. You do not have to pull the foreskin back to put a condom on, to masturbate, or to have sex. It is an absolute nonsense to think so. Only people who really do not know will tell you this is necessary.

Some people label a tight foreskin as phimosis. Generally people with a tight foreskin do not have phimosis, they just have a tight foreskin. There are millions of guys in the world with this condition which is quite normal. The only abnormal thing is when you try to stretch a foreskin that does not need to be stretched or try to use medications that rarely have any beneficial result.

The unfortunate thing is that retraction has been taught, mainly in USA, because personal hygiene was not taught. Washing a penis with the foreskin covered (not retracted) is very easily achieved and very efficient. Any boy or man can be shown how to do it if they are having a problem. The same goes for masturbation or sex. Many will argue that it is much more effective and it certainly feels great. I cant compare it to an open foreskin, because I have never done it that way.

Just leave your foreskin as it was intended to be. Anything you do to yourself that hurts is normally not a good thing to do, so don't do it. That particularly includes the terrible mutilation of circumcision which will leave you damaged for the rest of your life. If you’ve never pulled back your foreskin, then just don’t be conned into thinking that you have to. Some people do because they have a loose enough foreskin to do it, and some people don't because they have a tight foreskin. It is a simple as that. There is no right and wrong about it. There is nothing less normal either way. It is just how things are. Some people force themselves to retract by stretching and using creams and all sorts of stuff. It is ridiculous and has the distinct possibility of causing life time damage. Don’t ever do it!

It is normal for the glans to be a rich, healthy, colour and a purplish tinge is pretty common. This is caused by the high amount of blood flow into this area of the body.
If the foreskin is a bit tight and still seems connected,...it could be two things. First, the Frenulum on the underside of the glans, just below the urethral opening. Its purpose is to anchor the foreskin to the glans. The second thing it could be is part of the connective tissue (synechia) that bonds the foreskin and glans together since birth still needs to release it connection. You can help this along by gripping the tip of the foreskin while urinating in the shower. Let the urine balloon out the foreskin. This will lift the whole foreskin off the glans, provide a natural, cleansing flush under there, and help to break up the last of the remnants of synechia.
If the foreskin is still a bit tight, there is nothing wrong with you. You have a naturally tight foreskin, just like every other intact (not circumcised) man on the planet had at your age. Over 85% of the males on earth are intact so you are on the winning side. The other 15% wish they still were intact.
Follow the information in the links below and work the stretches into the daily shower routine. Let the warm water loosen and relax the skin before stretching. Stretches are to be firm, but gentle, with no pain. Pain is a damage indicator. Over stretching till it hurts can create micro tears in the skin opening that heal over with non elastic scar tissue, making retraction more difficult. No pain,...ever!!
Do not listen to anyone who says you have phimosis and need to be circumcised. True clinical phimosis is when you cannot retract enough to see the urethral opening, and is very rare.
Just keep at the stretches until you achieve the results you want. You will begin to see some progress and two weeks, with full and painless retraction in 3-4 months. If it takes longer, just keep stretching.
What will happen is the Frenar Band (google it) of muscle that closes down the skin opening will relax and expand enough to allow the foreskin to glide effortlessly back and forth over the coronal ridge. This will take time, but these stretches work.
Go to: www.norm.org and read about the reason and function of the foreskin. You will see how very fortunate you are to still have yours, and how misguided are those who promote circumcision for any reason.
Good luck with this.

The head should be a purple color if that's what you're referring too? If not it may just be sore if you've been masturbating or having more sexual activity lately. The bottom part of the glans should have your frenulum, the skin like bridge that connects your foreskin to the glans (head of penis). But if this isn't correct or helpful, try updating with more details and I'll try and help out some more!

Yeah , probably.

That long complex answer you got from @Mithras is sorta half right.

The foreskin doesn't have a synechia = though it sometime can have a skin bridge
more likely however is if you pulled back first time
you've still got some of the epithelium attached to glans (head) of penis.

This is O.K. = it protects glans in childhood.
It will dissolve by itself but may take a week or three.
The glans may look a bit raw while this is happening.

The raphe is the join line that runs from frenulum right underneath the penis
round your balls and back to perineum.
As long as it is joined up, i doubt if it needs to be straight.
Very few of us have dead symmetrical bodies.

It doesn't sound like you have problem.
