Question: Blood unusual color during illness?
ok so i have this scab on my leg, and when it would bleed it was a normal medium red. i have been sick for about two days now with the flu, and when i picked my scab it bled an odd plum (almost black) purple-red. it was extremely dark. i was wondering if my illness has anything to do with the color of my blood. if it does, can anyone tell me why? i am very interested in medical issues =)

it was that color because it was partially coagulated blood... because you picked off the scab ! Don't do that, it just makes healing take longer ! Even really really sick people have red blood because of hemoglobin pigments. And I've drawn blood from people nearly on their death beds, cancer, car accidents, heart attacks etc
