Should I start on P90X?!

Question: Should I start on P90X?
I am 21 years old 5'5 and about 125 lbs. I used to be very active back in high school with sports and stuff but the past couple years I haven't been exercising at all. Basically I would like to start p90x however I was told by few people that I am too skinny and too short to start p90x as it is for people with more weight and at least a couple inches taller. So should I start the 90 day program? Also is there a diet I can start on that will allow me to gain weight in a healthy way so I can make muscle?

Also is p90X healthy for me in the long run? Will it affect my body in a negative way later in life when I'm older or is it only beneficial?

First of all, your friends are wrong, P90X is for everybody. Second, it is the best exercise video ever! Third, if you do it right, you don't need a diet to gain muscle. Fourth, I know of nothing that will harm you in the long run. Im 18 and I am about your weight and I love it.

You are not too skinny or too short to do P90x. One of the great things about the program is that anybody can do it. You just do as many reps of each exercise that you can and then try to improve each week.

I have done the program several times and I was trying to lose weight. During the program Tony tells you several times that if you are trying to build muscle to use heavy weights and do 8-10 reps. Or if you are trying to lose weight and tone up, you use smaller weights and do 12-15 reps. So there are modifications for different fitness goals.

If you order the program thru Beachbody, it will come with a nutrition plan that also gives you options to help you build muscle mass.

I don't know of any long term negative affects of working out and eating healthier :)
