Should circumcision be routine medical practice in the United States?!

Question: Should circumcision be routine medical practice in the United States!?
Comments!? Opinions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no it should not, people should have a say in what they want mutilated, it has no PROVEN medical benefits only benefits argued by old highly debated studies

it should be banned

NO NATIONAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION including the american association of pediatrics HAS EVER recommended it as routineWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it is routine in the sense that it requires a waiver!. It does take a little care after the procedure but since it is generally offered at 6 or so days after birth it might be good to get it out of the way (ooh pun) before the child puts you through a very uncomfortable office visit!.
Nothing wrong with not having it done for religious or other aesthetic reasons!. I guess there is no medical reason to indicate the procedure other than sanitation, although I would hate to think of my husband facing it for some problem that develops later with a shrinking foreskin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO!. 80% of all males on the planet are natural!. It was routine in the US and Canada for the 1940's - 1980's!. Now not even covered by insurance in Canada unless medically necessary, considered elective surgery just like face lifts and boob jobs!. In the US the rate of circumcision has declined dramatically in the past few years, to only 54%!. So in 20 years most teen boys will be uncut!. There is rarely a medical need for the surgery, and it was promoted only due to poor judgement by the health community!. Plus the Hitler fear!. In pre-WWII suspected jewish males were made to expose their genitals to show whether they were jewish!. If they were cut, they were hauled off to the death camps!. Since many jewish people emigrated to the US to escape the pogroms, the idea of promoting circumcision of all male infants was used to eliminate the threat of another future purge--if all males are cut you can't tell who is jewish or not!. I think the idea of circumcison was developed to distinguish humans from other mammals-- so we don't look like our cousins the apes down there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, thankfully it is no longer routine!.

No, it shouldn't be!. I am circumcised, and would have preferred by a far shot not to be!. It was wrong for people to take that choice away from me because it was "routine!." Every boy should be natural and allowed to make his own decision AS AN ADULT!. We do not permit female circumcision to be routine -- it is considered cruel and inhuman, neither should male circumcision be routine -- it is the same!.

Kind thoughts,

I'm not sure if I would make circumcision mandatory for all Americans, because there are those that should have the option to refuse!. I wasn't circumcised at birth although I often wondered why my parents choose not to have me circumcised!.

Nevertheless, I learned to adapt to life being uncircumcised and took care of myself modestly well, but I often still had the foul smell when I retracted my forskin to urinate!. As I reached puberty and early stages of adolesence, I took more time out of my day to wash under the forskin, because I didn't want my foul forskin smell to be a turnoff for girls!. Needless to say the experience made me self conscious!.

Finally when I as 19, I decided to get circumcised once and for all!. Since being circumcised, my hygiene, sexual satisfaction, self confidence, and overall health has improved drastically!.

It would be un-American to deny citizens their right to choose but, If people truely new the upsides to being circumcised they wouldn't think twice!.

Have a good day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Circumcision is never necessary!. It should not be routine!. Only people who specifically request it for their baby should get it!. Doctors should not pressure anyone to get it!.

They say it cuts down on infections, but if it is kept clean, there will be no infections to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES!!!
As it is, many insurances do not cover it, as it is deemed "not medically neccessary!."
As a mother of two boys, and I've worked in many nursing homes, I believe it is very important, and prevents infections!. Many infections!.
It should be necessary and routine!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Obviously not!.

Your question has highlighted the total ignorance and vanity of the American public!. Its f*cking embarrassing to read most of these answers!. Anyone from any other developed country reading this must think Americans have some weird fixation with chopping bits off babies' penises!.!.!.

Take some of the most powerful countries in the world apart from the US, say the UK, France, Russia, China, Japan, India, Germany, etc, less than 20% of their males are circumcised!. Wakey-wakey USA!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it shouldn't be routine and as of 1999 it isn't any more - the American Academy of Pediatrics say, and I quote: "the risks outweigh any 'possible' benefits" So what they are saying is that it isn't needed to ensure the child is healthy!. They have left the option open for parents to decide because of those crazy Jews and Muslims that believe some old book!.

AAP Statement: http://www!.circumstitions!.com/AAP-ana!.ht!.!.!.

The foreskin is very important in sex, so it should never be cut off:

It should be illegal to circumcise children in general!.

As of 2005, only 56% of baby boys were circumcised before leaving the hospital!.

http://www!.hcup-us!.ahrq!.gov/reports/stat!.!.!.

As it is, the US is the only first world country where the majority of boys are still circumcised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont know what you mean by routine!. It is not mandatory, but it is the choice of parents to circumcise their sons!. Its quite legal and it is also beneficial!.!.

Jim T you are not telling the truth!. The AAP just revised their position and they state that circumcision does have health benefits and that it should be discussed by doctors along with possible disadvantages!.

Micheal!. As Americans we dont follow anybody's lead!. We lead other nations!. If you dont like it, thats too bad!. No one is telling you what to do!. You are blatantly anti-american!. and most of the anti circumcision posters are not even American!. They cant stand that we provide benefits for our sons!. This is a Free Country!. you can do what you want here with no one to bother you!. Can you say that about China and Russia!?

wakey wakey Michael

Darth Vader is supreme!. Helmets rule!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it shouldn't be!. And yes, it was routine, but isn't anymore!. More and more people are starting to brighten up on the topic of circumcision and realize it's worthless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it should be a choice!. Religion has alot to do with it, so it shouldn't be routine!. Anyways its cruel and can cause medical problems later in life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely!. Not that it is impossible to do, not circumcising your child can lead to infections if not properly cleaned on a regular basis!. Furthermore, they are so ugly without it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cleaner and some women prefer the look!. besides you don't have to worry about tearing the forskin when you first start getting hardons!. Thank god my mother insisted the doctor to do it after my father said no!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

According to the American Association of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association, no!. Their policies state this should not be a routine procedure for newborns!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No way! I was circumcised at 19 and totally regret it! Before I was circumcised I never had one infection and masturbation and intercourse were so much better! I'd give anything to have my foreskin back!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think it is alredy lol!.!.

But if its not i think it should be because if people dont wash good then they gona get a sht load of infections!.

Cheers!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, there are religious reasons to either do this or not and when!. No one should force that decision on the parents!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i feel it should be optional; it wouldn't harm the baby if he was not circumcizedWww@Answer-Health@Com

well although it does eliminate the risk of infection and make it look bigger!.!.!.!. i'd feel like such a jew!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
