Is it normal for one side of your face to grow less hair than the other?!

Question: hypothetically. the hair on one side of my face grows alot thicker and smoother than the other side. is this because of the way i sleep (i.e. i sleep on my right side so my right side is in the pillow which equals less hair growth). and does shaving really stimulate hair growth? i shave like once a week.

How old are you? I do know that adolescents don't grow facial hair as easily or evenly as adults. I am 19 and still have a few areas on my face that don't grow hair well, but it gets better over time.

If you are an adult, then the hair folacles probably never really developed as well. Anyway, just shave it; most women prefer a clean-shaven (or lightly stubbly) man. How many "sexy celebs" do you see with a lumberjack beard (if they don't need it for a character)? Also, a beard and moustache is a disgusting place (random food crumbs, nose drainage/boogers, dirt).

As far as shaving goes, many people say that frequent shaving makes the hair grow in faster, but I don't believe that. It doesn't make any sense. Cutting your hair doesn't make the folicals grow faster or make new folicals form. I have no evidence to back this statement up, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not really sure about that. Ask fellow male family members about this and see if they ever had this problem. It could be genetic. My boyfriend has a little patch that doesn't grow right, and we kinda figured that's where his cell phone is usually and could be why the hair doesn't grow right. If he holds the phone with his ear it rubs the spot and that's the side he always uses. So, do you use the right side to talk on your cell? That could be a possibliity too.
