I think my husband has flat feet...help?!
Question: He always comes home with enourmous blisters on his feet, and his feet always hurt him at the end of the day. He is about fourty pounds overweight and i've been guessing that has a lot to do with it, but his feet don't have an arch in them like mine do. What to do with my husband's flat feet? Are there some good shoes out there that won't hurt his feet?

My husband and son both have flat feet and they both have orthotics, although my son doesn't wear his. The orthotics people said they should wear good quality, supportive shoes (not skate shoes, for instance) with the orthotic devices in them.
Orthotics are just custom made plastic inserts that lift the arches, although in a person with flat feet they won't have that much of an arch in them.
Soaking and foot massages might help your husband too.

Flat feet is a bigger problem than most people think and can have long-term health effects such as leg and lower back pain. The most important thing is good footware; arch supports would also help. There are stores and companies that specialize in that sort of thing. I don't know where you live, but check the yellow pages or the internet for "orthotics" and you will be able to find out more.
try to see if his feet is really flat because physiologically, there is no such thing as real flat, and so let him try shoes of different variations, there are plenty in stores
