Bi-Polar disorder is Manic Depression. It's characterized by manic periods where you're not sleeping much and, well, manic -- and other periods where you're pretty severely depressed. It's not very common, and is treatable with the right combination of medications. You'd have to be diagnosed by a psychiatrist.
