Ive been on cymbalta for over 2 years and have gained 50 lbs rapidly...can these be connected?

im taking 60 mg, still depressed and miserable, dont feel like it works anymore, and i just read an article that the cymbalta causes rapid weight gain..ive been trying to figure out for 2 years why i gain weight when i exercise and eat healthy...and now im thinking this might be it..... any thoughts? any experiences?? how to ween off this??


Answers:

You should always let your doctor know what's going on. If you tell him you feel that it's not working anymore and you can't tolerate the side effects he should switch you to something else. Never stop cold turkey, it could have dangerous side effects. Your doctor will be able to tell you the best way to lower the doses. The weight gain sucks, but it's a common side effect. Your mental well-being is more important, but the med isn't working for that anymore either.
