How to see a psychiatrist/therapist with no insurance?!

Question:

How to see a psychiatrist/therapist with no insurance?

I'm 18 years and I want to seek a psychiatrist/therapist, basically a professional adult who I could talk to, get advice from, and diagnose me. My mother has anxiety disorder and I feel I have some mental disorder perhaps similar to that, but am afraid of asking her how to get help. I only have freecare but it isn't covered by the majority of health institutes, so is there perhaps some kind of free counseling out there or any over the counter anti-depressants? My mental health is really becoming an issue as I feel depressed most of the time and have anger problems and it is ruining my relationships. Thank you in advance :)

Answers:

Look up social services or mental health services in the phone book, usually listed under the "county government" or often "state government" pages
