Is there anyway to overcome depression with out medicine?!

Question:

Is there anyway to overcome depression with out medicine?

Is there any way to treat depression with out medicine?. I am suffering from a bipolar depression. Just recently i purchased a depression work book to work on ( which is so boring) and i am so confused about it. I have at least 4 severe mood swings a day. I have had a suspended license for the last 2 years and i dont have a job because i cant drive. I try to fing things to do during the day but i get bored. I see my friends once in a while. but the only person i really see is my husband. and i get mad at him for every little thing. I feel so angry inside (over nothing!!!) and i am ruining my marrage. I have taken (celexa, wellbutin, Paxel cr) over the last 5 years and i hate them all. ( i am not against anyone else takin them but they make me sick (even after monthes of taking them)) . Does anyone know of any good self help books?i would like to help myself? I have seen a shrinka while ago and that was no help. does anyone have any suggestions?

Answers:

See bipolar disorder, depression, and anger management at http://www.ezy-build.net. (.net.nz/~shaneris) on pages 5, 2, and 4. I suggest using a mood stabiliser, like Lithium Carbonate, or Lithium Citrate (there are others) for the bipolar aspect, and the treatments on page 2, for the depressive phase, but they must be maintained. The volunteer work, which you can do at home, will help in multiple ways; mention it to your potential employers; once you get your licence, start jobhunting, but also do some volunteering outside the home, maybe once weekly, which will gain you a reference; you can add it to your CV, and many employers give preference to those who do volunteer work. Tell your husband your new plans, and ask him to note any changes in your behavio(u)r in the coming weeks, and provide feedback and encouragement. Let him know that you realise he has gone through quite a bit, lately, as well as you. Avoid whatever it was that caused you to lose your licence, or it may well happen again!
