OCD is hereditary, right?!

Question:

OCD is hereditary, right?

I've been researching it lateley, and I'm almost positive I have OCD and pretty sure my mom has it. But we are completly different, yet all of our quirks could be considered OCD.
She likes stuff clean, and will flip out if there's even one thing of mine lying around.
I, on the other hand don't really mind stuff unclean or messy, but everything has to be in a pattern for me.
There's a lot more stuff too.
I know it's kinda stupid to ask, but even though we both have different symptoms we both could have OCD? Oh, and we are always disagreeing and on stuff like that (and theres been lots, and they can get pretty intense, i wouldn't call it normal), so thats another thing that has led me to think this. Thanks.

Answers:

Many genetic studies published over the past twenty years have repeatedly shown that OCD is hereditary. Early age of onset of OCD may present a significant increase in the risk among the first-degree relatives. However, it is important to note that not all studies demonstrate that it runs in families.
