No more sleepy tired feeling?!
Question:
No more sleepy tired feeling?
I have had insomnia for the past 2 months now. Some nights i just don’t sleep. I prob. only average 24-28 hrs of sleep per week. Its so fustrating. I have tried everything. I exersice regularly, no caffine, eat pretty well. In the begining i tried xanax, ambien, llunesta, etc. Nothing works, or keeps me a sleep. I’ll go 2 days with no sleep but i dont get that sleepy tired feeling any more, like the point when you know your so tired and just drift off into sleep. I miss that feeling and my regular schedule. I have not been living my life normally since not sleeping, i try to go to bed early, etc, but have so much anxiety about not sleeping, so right before bed i stress out, i try all things to relax but it doesnt work. Why don’t i have that sleepy tired feeling? I can feel myself sometimes start to drift off into sleep then its like my body wakes me right up! Its crazy. I miss my sleep. I have been to the doctors and to a sleep specialist, didnt help. Anybody have similar issues?

Oh and i’m 27 yrs old. Also i have tried staying up and reading, watching tv and not going to bed until tired but once i get into bed the panic starts. I’ve also tried melatonin & camomile tea, didnt work.

Nothing much happened 2 months ago, i was not depressed, or no tramadic event, etc. One thing that kept happening was my bf waking me up at 4 am cuz he works nights and has odd hours, this happened a few nights in a row and i found myself waking up at 4 am wide awake sooo thats when i started stressing about sleeping and it started a cycle. And in the past i only had a once in a while incident where i’d have trouble sleeping one night, but only once or twice, i am a very light sleeper thou. anything wakes me up.
Answers:
The only thing thing that saved me was taking Ambien and after years of insomnia I started sleeping normally. I have a sleep disorder and that was the only thing that helped me survive.
So many, feel that it will be habit forming. But, wouldn't you rather get a good nights sleep and start feeling good again. Whatever you do I hope you will get well.
Maybe your answers will provide you with what needs to be done.
See a specialist first.
