Treating depression?!

Question:

Treating depression?

I can't afford therapy or drugs, What else is there that might help?

Answers:

proper diet & sleep or at least a multi vitamin. if you have imsomnia make yourself sleep quiet dark and no clock to look at when you open your eyes if you can't get out of bed make yourself do it. try to interact with people even if only 1 hour a day. find something you like to do that needs that needs to be planned and has a finish and commit to it, crafts work best becuase you can express your emotion through artwork which will give your subconcious an outlet. Talk to at least one person who is close to you about how you are feeling, cry if you feel like it, it helps and is a good release. laughter is also a good way to naturally stimulate endorphins that elevate your mood sure its silly to make yourself laugh for nothing in a mirror but try it 3 min of hearty laughing is like taking a small dose of anti depressant, dark choclate also works but you can't go over board it also has caffiene in it and to much stiffles your natural mood elevators, walking & exercise also stimulate endorphins. understand that the cause of depression and the state of depression are not the same. Chemically chronic depression is a problem that occurs when your nerve receptors are not producing enough or any of the chemical that evens us out when problems and strife occur, therapy gives you an external outlet and monitors the severity and drugs artificially replace the chemical balance within our bodies. try not to self medicate with drugs, alcohol or sex, it only worsens the condition. meditation and breathing has worked for me to I must admit it was hard to make myself do some of these things but when i seriously tried them they did work. I have suffered w/ chroninc depression and anxiety for the last 15 years and when I think Im ok and go my meds I always wind up 2x as bad as before. all of the things I have menbtioned really work. If you may have suicidal feelings or that you may harm yourself or others you really need to see someone worry about your life and health evryone has $$ problems
