My girlfriend suffers from depression and gets suicidal when we have a bad fight!

My girlfriend suffers from depression and gets suicidal when we have a bad fight & blames me, wat can i do?
she is getting help, as in seeing a counsellor over it buts its not working , she takes tablets & cuts herself when she's feeling down, im afraid she'll successfuly commit suicide some day

I want to stay with her because i love her so much, the good times are great, but sometimes i feel myself tip toeing round her & i feel trapped when she threatens suicide, i just want her to be happy

(can't understand either why doctors hand suicidal people a big bag of tablets to take, isn't it like handing them a gun)
