I took 1 25mg pill of topamax, and now im having a beer is this ok?

ive only just started it, 1 pill this morning, will a couple beers effect it?

I used to be on 200mg of topamax so I will give you an unbiased answer. Topamax is prescribed "off-label" to alcoholics to help them to stop drinking. The reason they do that is because beer will taste flat on topamax in the first several weeks-months depending on your dose. When I was on 200mg, even when the beer tasted good, I found it difficult to drink more than one or two beers. It just didn't appeal to me for some reason. I would not drink beer on the first day you take the drug or if you will drive. The first few weeks of topamax are difficult enough without adding alcohol to the mix. It's hard to know what to drink while on Topamax. All pop will taste really salty. Honestly, the only thing I found I could drink was iced tea and water. Make sure you drink lots of water because topamax can cause kidney stones and reduce your ability to sweat. I don't know why you were prescribed topamax, but stick with it for several weeks. The side effects do go away. If you drink beer, have a glass of water with each beer and don't drink more than 2.
