Keep a journal and write down when you are eating, what you are feeling, are you sad, depressed, happy? Then try to see if there are patterns to your eating. If you can determine what the pattern is it is a little easier to break. Also really try to pay attention to your body, and try to only eat when you are hungry, and let yourself feel hungry, so you can identify the feeling. Emotional eating can creep up on us, sometimes it is just a result of boredom, since we are not in our addiction any more we don't know what to do, so we eat. If you think that might be the issue, eat something healthy, like fruit or vegies. There are ways to trick yourself, but first you need to see if you can discover the root of the issue.
I have the same problem. I have come to an conclusion that it is stress related. Find ways to lower stress and you should be fine.

Maybe the content of your diet is too much, but the wrong content and therefore not nourishing you correctly.
