How can you reduce stress? Urgent!?!

Question: How can you reduce stress? Urgent!?
My wife is under a lot of stress. She's had a lot of difficulties in her life and is very burdoned by it all. She doesn't let things go, and they build up over time. What are some techniques, remedies, or venues that might help her learn to reduce stress?

Answers:

Here are a ways you may want to try. There's no best way -- the only best way is the one that works for your wife:

1. Have a good talk with her. Or rather listen to her talk about problems, issues that are giving her stress. If the problems involved you, don't be defensive, just listen. When she's done, discuss ways to solve the problems.

2. Make sure she's eating properly. That means no junk food, and only whole, nutritious foods. During stressful times, one needs more nutritional support to help her body cope with the extra demands. Some people also think that lacking in certain vitamins/minerals can also cause symptoms of stress.

3. Learn how to meditate. There are many free meditation resources you can find on the Internet. Meditation is an age-old method that can help one to put things in the right perspective. The side effects of meditation is feeling more calm and relaxed. Not a bad thing at all I think.

4. Exercise with her. Bring her out of the house and do some exercises together. It'll prevent her from brooding over her problems and also get her blood to circulate. Good for both your wife and yourself.

5. Spend some quality time with her. Besides exercising, try to spend more time quality time with her whenever you can. TV time is not quality time. Go for nice dinner together once a week in a nice place if you can afford. If money is an issue, go to a nice public park for a good walk during weekends. Do things together at home like cooking is also good.

There are many ways to reduce stress. If you want more ideas, try searching online (here's one site you can try: http://theconsciouslife.com/15-natural-s… )

Hope your wife will feel better soon!

get her to write down the things that bother her
get her to take long soaks in a hot bath
get her to breathe deep and slow and to let go of all tension in her muscles

give her backrubs and get a book on home massage, use warmed vegetable oil
