I Suffer depression for years and started CBT with my universities counselor...but I became Impulsive and broke up with my girl for no apparent reason "I think it's best we don't talk anymore" I said ...In a depressive rage Suspecting she cheated on me on valentines....(no proff so far tho)

I have problems at home no job no anything everything is messed up.

Recently I started to self mutilate in many ways...Puncture my leg with pens, razors , knives and sharp objects...Stoped eating ... sleeping and even showering ...

I drink a lot and mix alchool with nyquil and I sniff glue...etc

Is this a sign that I'm becoming suicidal? If so how can I Get over this?

I havent told my therapist because he might send me to a mental hospital... :S

Self harm does not mean you're becoming suicidal. It means you're having issues with your feelings and it makes you feel better.
Some people who self-mutilate attempt suicide but that is the exception, not the rule.

Based on your question and your QUESTION alone: no, self-injury doesn't HAVE to be a sign that your becoming suicidal. It only becomes so if suicide is what your aiming for. (ie, if your self-injuring with intentions of killing yourself.) But it CAN lead to suicide. Although it can, it doesn't have to though, you can get help. Please get help for this. I'm also getting help for this--I'm a recovering self-injurer. Talk to a counselor, friend, family anyone..please!
Stay safe! <3

Recovering self-injurer.

It definitely could lead to that.
It would mean allot to allot of people and yourself if you told your therapist.
I have a friend who went to a mental hospital and said she is so glad she did it.
Apparently it really helps.
Best of luck.
Also, listen to Sigur Ros. It's a great band and it really relaxes me.

i know this is the last thing you want to hear, but please listen. i think you should break it to someone... a parent or something. you cant go on like this, its a slippery slope that'll just keep going down. i used to self harm, and i tell you now, its a slippery slope, youre worth more than that, ok? please consider telling someone, yeah? it'll seem **** at the time, but in the long run it will do so much good x best wishes xxxxxxxxxxx

No self harm is not a sign that your are suicidal. Being suicidal means that you want to kill yourself. Self harming means that you want to harm yourself. Two completely different things. You do need to tell your therapist.

LA VERDAD QUE CON MUTILAR TE SI TE VUELVE UNA PERSONA SUICIDA POR QUE ESTAS DESTRUYENDO O LASTIMANDO TU CUERPO, YA QUE NO MUESTRAS QUE QUIERAS A TU CUERPO.
COMO SOLUCIONARLO HAY MUCHAS FORMAS EN MI OPINIóN, PERO LA MAS IMPORTANTE ES QUE EMPIECES A QUERERTE POR QUE SOLO DEMUESTRAS QUE ESTAS HARTO DE TI, PERO CREO QUE DEBES EMPEZAR ASí SI TE DAS CUENTA QUE TIENES GANAS DE LASTIMARTE ANDA CON UN AMIGO O UNA PERSONA DE CONFIANZA QUE TE AYUDE A PENSAR EN ALGO MAS Y DESPUéS PUES PENSAR EN COSAS POSITIVAS POR QUE ESO AL PARECER ES LO QUE ESTIMULA A ESO DE MUTILAR TE Y QUIERO QUE PIENSES EN QUE SIGUES ASí ALGúN DíA TU MENTE CAMBIE AL PUNTO DE QUERER REALMENTE SUICIDARTE Y ESO ES ALGO QUE NO QUIERES QUE PASE POR QUE POR LO QUE VEO HAS ECHO ESTA PREGUNTA Y ESTAS MUY PREOCUPADO JEJEJE.

First off all, can I say I'm sorry for your depression. It must be a very difficult condition to handle. Secondly, I don't think self harm necessarily has anything to do with suicide. The aim behind it is really hazy. I think people find it just as some sort of release. It really depends on how you feel after you do it. For some people, it focuses the mind on the physical pain rather than any emotional pain they had before. For others, its being able to control something in their uncontrollable life. I really think you should tell someone about it. It would help to speak to someone. Good luck with everything and take care. x
