I feel like I've lost control- help?!

Question: I feel like I've lost control- help?
I've been depressed for the past year now. Despite being in therapy with an understanding counselor, I keep feeling worse. Now it feels like I can barely function. I can't make it a day without crying or breaking down. I used to have suicidal thoughts that would go away, but now they keep getting worse and more convincing. I don't want to tell my therapist about the suicidal thoughts since I'm a minor and they would have to tell my mother. I don't know what to do anymore. It feels like I'm not in control anymore. Help?

I'm not a doctor but I suggest this:
What makes you happy? What makes you feel good on the inside? Find ways of channeling that positive energy brought forth from whatever makes you happy and keep it in mind and heart. Things at home could be terrible, but rest assured that it won't last forever. Just keep strong and know that things can and will get better. You may not be able to see the gold at the end of the rainbow but just keep your faith and meditate on things that make you smile on the inside. I pray things get better for you.

I cannot speak for everyone else, but prayer and meditation help me when I feel depressed or angry. I go to a quiet place, close my eyes, breathe deeply, and think about positive things or nothing at all.

Don't commit suicide there is always ect or tms it helps a lot with depression they are electricity. You can also get a sunlight therapy lamp look it up on amazon or google as that helps with depression. so does fish oil, vitamin d supplement and sunshine, excersize, anti depressants, cognitive behavior therapy if your serious and you might have a thyroid disorder or vitamin deficiency or even gluten intolerance that is contributing to your depression. st johns wart also helps but it you need to take a lot of it and it is expensive lol. The point is there is always help. Life is always worth living no matter what when your happy and you'll get there. The lamp works wonders! It takes half an hour in the morning though good luck! Ps you should really be on an anti depressant!

How old are you? It depends on how old you are. You shouldn't hide telling someone, especially a doctor, about suicidal thoughts. You might be able to be prescribed some anti- depressants that would really change your life when you find the right ones.

Anti- depressants work with these things called neurotransmitters in the brain. You could have a deficiency in one of those hormones. Which are needed to have for a feeling of well being and happiness. These hormones are called serotonin, nueropenephrine and dopamine .

If you cannot be prescribed these then something you could do to make you feel better is go to the pharmacy and buy some B- vitamins, folic acid pills, and thiamine pills which help in the making of those transmitters.

Hope i helped

You do need to tell your counselor. This could come to a head when you will try to take your own life.

Your mother obviously is concerned if she would want you to get further therapy if she knew just how depressed and suicidal you are becoming right now.

Please don't waste any time in letting either your counselor or mother know just what is happening. It literally is a "matter of life or death" right now and you need to let someone know who will be able to alleviate all that you are currently experiencing.

If you don't want to tell your therapist about the suicidal thoughts then AT THE VERY LEAST tell him/her that your depression is getting worse.
