So embarrassed to go back to work, should I quit?!
Question: So embarrassed to go back to work, should I quit?
What's a good excuse to come up with for not coming in this week while I formulate a plan to see if it's possible I work from home, if not I will look for another job which are easy in my profession

i know what you mean. But in our economy, unless you tried to rob the place, try to hang in there.
i'm unemployed, and it sucks.
What is this embarrassing thing? I know you won't want to broadcast it on the internet but how can people offer you good advice without further details and knowing your situation? If it was me, it would depend entirely on what had been revealed about me. We all have problems in life. I like to face them head on myself rather than quitting and shying away from it. It depends what you call 'extremely embarrassing' I suppose. Not going into work though shows that you're a bit of a coward. Apart from saying you're not well, any other excuse isn't really going to sound believable and people are going to think that it's pretty convenient timing.
I'm guessing your a web designer? I don't think you should quit because they will all pretty soon forget all about that emmbarresing fact. I've gone through stuff like this thinking same things as you. Then I came back and it was like nothing happened after a week. I don't think you should worry, it'll pull over.

tell them that you are feeling unwell. it is at least a partial white lie. you are feeling uncomfortable due to your lie that is now kicking you in your bum. try to go back to work and see what happens. they may know that you lie a little,as do we all at times, and maybe nothing will be said and you can continue on with your work as if nothing ever occurred.
haven't we all been there at one time or other at work ,or school. it's hard to keep hiding. i suffer from several froms of mental illness. you should see some of the stupid things that i have done and then had to face down.
Tell them you have a medical procedure that will keep you from work for a few weeks and everyone will need to refer to you as Samantha upon your return.
Ok I think that u should say u have the flu or something since its early in the year and its cold
what happened in the past, we need to know?
