It's understandable that you're nervous. They are there to help you though. They are not going to tell you, do this or that. They give you the tools somewhat to help you figure out what is ailing you and figure out solutions. They are not going to judge you. Sometimes, the first counselor you see isn't a good, "fit" for you and sometimes it does take seeing multiple counselors to figure out the one that is truly a good fit for you. Remember this: They are not there to judge you and they are there to help and support you...
i can understand why you are nervous but don't be usually they might ask you the usual basic questions e.g name age then maybe who is in you family .They are really good at making you feel at ease they won't bombard you with indepth questions straightaway .it is usuallly very relaxed and will go at your pace so that you are comfortable with them as for sorting problem that irritating phrase 'it takes time' really does apply but do not let that get in the way you've made the first big step in helping your own problems by seeking help and that is a big step the rest will follow, good luck.
counselors are very nice people. They are much nicer then psychiatrist or psychologists. I personally find them very nice. They listen, they ask questions, and most importantly they try to make you realize that you have potential. My high school counselor was such an amazing lady that i still have not forgotten her yet. : )
