If by long-term concussions you mean repeated concussions, then you should refer to research done on Lou Gherig's disease. Football players and baseball players - people that often get concussions - tend to develop ALS, also known as Lou Gherig's disease for the famous baseball player that first publically contracted the disease. There has been quite a bit of research detailing this link and although it's not absolutely proven, many, many respected scientists and neuroscientists believe in the correlation. People who have had concussions have been known to display lesser mental functioning. By this I mean that mental tasks they did before the concussion are harder after the concussion. There are also many, many people who recover from concussions and then are completely fine.
