Is my psychiatrist screwing me over?!

Question: Is my psychiatrist screwing me over?
He put me on Ritalin for supposed ADD (I'm not sure I have it cause I really don't notice a big difference in my ability to concentrate when I'm on the drug) and instead of just writing me a new prescription each month, he makes me come into his office for a 2 minute visit where he just writes the script! The copays I need to pay, along with the drug cost, really adds up!

I think I'm just going to stop seeing him and taking the medication altogether. Good idea?

I mean...when I first went to him thinking I might have add, he basically didn't even question me about my behaviors...instead he just immediately prescribed the drug. He is really old, he's black, and I don't think he's doing too well financially, so I think he's just trying to milk me...right?

Answers:

Go to a different psychiatrist and get their opinion. There are medications where the doctor HAS to see you face to face and write the prescription. They are not allowed to be refilled.

I have no idea what the Doctor being black would have to do with it, he's being old might be a
problem. If he's as old as you think it is.

He's black so obviously he's trying to swindle you... right? And old people have to get rich somehow and they don't do it through honest means which means, despite what the people on TV tell you it's okay to rob them.

What is the fact he's black got to do with anything?
