Does this sound like depression?!
Question: Does this sound like depression?
Answers:
Look I dont want to sound like I'm not being sensitive to you or sympathetic to you at all but it does sound like the beggining stages of a depression. In my opinion, depression is when someone does not know how to handle life or doesn't know the steps into over comming situations when they arise. Alot of great people have used this time of there life they hated so much as fuel to make themselves really successful or powerful. Just think 5 years from now in your life you have everything you ever wanted and more, if you could jump into the future and see that would u still be depressed now? Write down on paper what it is that you want to accomplish in the next 5 years and figure out how you can accomplish them and what it is going to take to accmplish that goal. Almost every goal set forth can be met. As for your parents seperating, I understand the difficulty that can have on a teen but trust me when your older you wont even care anymore why? Because it was your parents decision and not yours to make. My parents divorced when I was growing up and I had to deal with that too and knowing what I know now it was silly of me to let that affect me. You and only you can choose how you want to live. Start educating yourself sweetie and you will get through it.
It doesn't sound like your dealing with depression because you havent listed any of the symptoms. If you were feeling any of these:
Sadness or hopelessness
Irritability, anger, or hostility
Tearfulness or frequent crying
Withdrawal from friends and family
Loss of interest in activities
Changes in eating and sleeping habits
Restlessness and agitation
Feelings of worthlessness and guilt
Lack of enthusiasm and motivation
Fatigue or lack of energy
Difficulty concentrating
Thoughts of death or suicide
then I would say you would exhibit some symptoms of depression, but only a doctor can diagnose you. I suggest you keep attending the sessions and ask your parents for more help because only the sessions arent working. You need to talk, talk to anyone, talk to a doctor, your mom, your dad.. just talk and let it out, talking with a therapist will help you find your way to happiness.
Depends on how old you are, but my guess is it's growing up. Stand up for yourself in the bullying department. I don't mean like some Disney movie cliche where the loser gets everything they've ever wanted in the end because they finally stood their ground.
I mean stand up for you inside yourself, people will be trying to pick you apart your entire life, but you have to hold yourself together. And well, if that means slapping a ***** in the face, sometimes the mood calls action for it.
Joke with them, be sarcastic. They're looking to get a rise out of you. Don't let them have their sadistic glory. You're bullied because honest enough, bullies are too insecure with themselves to be able to hold themselves together. Misery loves company.....don't let them make you miserable. Be free from it. It's the chain they have around your neck. Don't be their slave.
