Can Clozaril (Clozapine) cause fast heart rate? Are Beta Blockers safe? If so, what do you recommend. Also. How do they come up with the name of a drug?

Clozapine can cause cardiac arrhythmias and tachycardia (fast heart rate). How long have you been on the medication? If you just started it, you may need to see a Doctor quickly.

Have they prescribed beta-blockers for you? I'm on beta-blockers to regulate my sympathetic nervous system, and it's relatively safe if it is monitored correctly. It can cause fainting due to low blood-pressure and bradycardia, and some other things; but if you start with a smaller dose and work your way up it should be fine.
